Faith Connolly moved away, determined to start a new life for herself, leaving everything behind. Years later, in turmoil from a love gone bad and accusations of theft swirling around her, a relationship is the last thing Faith wants, especially with the new fireman.
John Bauers’ life turns upside down when the love of his life deserts him with not so much as a warning. Then tragedy strikes. Missing the chance to be with the girl who stole his heart, John roams aimlessly, taking advantage of women, not caring who he hurts. But a night out with the guys changes everything.
Faith may have run but her past refuses to let her go.
Interview
UAN: Finding Faith is your debut novel, correct?
Ysabel: Yes, it is.
What was it like to hit the ‘publish’ button?
It was scary and exciting all at the same time. I probably double checked everything ten times before I did it.
What inspired you to start writing and share your work with the world?
It started out as a hobby while my husband was at work. I fell in love with John and Faith and the story in general. I couldn’t see them sitting on my computer just hanging out not being enjoyed by others.
About Finding Faith, was any of it inspired by personal events?
Yes. I am in the medical field like Faith and my husband is a Fireman. I also used the lay out of several locations from my real life.
Okay, we’ve seen those delicious looking firemen pics you love to post! Whew – makes me want to start a little bonfire to see if they’ll stop by! *wink* Besides the eye candy, why write about firemen?
I decided to write about them because living with one gives me an inside view of their daily life and work life that I thought would be fun to write about, considering I know so much about it. I also wanted to be different than the current trend of Rockers and Billionaires.
What is your favorite part of the writing process?
Getting the story out onto the screen is by far my most favorite part. The story plays like a movie in my head and I simply write down what I’m seeing.
Anything that was challenging and maybe unexpected?
The most challenging part for me was getting all of the behind the scene things figured out. It took me days to decide on the cover alone and to set up my accounts to publish. I’m hoping the second time around won’t be so nerve wracking.
What are ‘must haves’ for your writing cave?
Since I have kids I can’t really hide. All I need are a pair of ear buds to blast music to help drown them out, and a drink, usually coffee or pop at any time of day it doesn’t matter.
Will you/can you share your future book release plans?
The next book is Keeping Faith and I am hoping to release it late summer/ early fall.
Thanks, Ysabel! Anything else you’d like to add or share with us and all the others who are Up All Night??
I would like to say Thank you to everyone who has supported me in getting this off to a great start, from bloggers, friends to the fans. I couldn’t have done it without any of you.
Again, thanks, Ysabel, for joining us here!
The mid-west has been my home my entire life. Make that the same state, Illinois. I even lived in the same house the first twenty-three years of my life until I moved out. I am married with three young daughters that are always into something.
I work a part time job in the medical field. I have been lucky enough to have been doing it for almost 15 years. The stories I could tell would probably amaze you. They are almost as entertaining as Finding Faith, but not quite.
This journey started out as a hobby to keep me busy while my husband is at work. Not that the kids don’t do a good job, but at night I get bored while he’s gone. I wrote a YA Paranormal novel that is still sleeping, waiting for me to do something with it, but John and Faith called to me. I really don’t know what it is but their story took over and I have to get it out. I fell in love with them and have to share in hopes that you all fall in love with them as much as I have.
