Beyond Horizon by Anne Malcom (The Sons of Templar)
Life is counted in tiny breaths, ones that measure the length of your existence. Life stole the ability to make those breaths easy when Lily was nine years old. Turned her quiet. Made her curl into herself, and shut out a world that threatened to bury her under its weight.
The end of her world is what brings him back—her biker. His chocolate eyes pierce her soul while his club tempts her with a life that she didn’t know she could ever have. Especially not when she was clutching the tattered remains of her existence, and with a weight bearing down on her which makes her unfit for the role of Old Lady. Asher changes that. He wants to set about repairing it, repairing her and her broken world. The problem is, even his strong shoulders can’t carry the burden of her sorrow.
Asher doesn’t take no for an answer. She may have given him her heart three years ago, but never in her wildest dreams would she imagine she had possessed his for the same amount of time.
Just when it seems like she may be able to ride off into the horizon, the world isn’t quite finished trying to rob her of breath. Of life.
This is the fourth book I have read in this series. I’ve said it with each book, Anne Malcom has talent.
In Beyond Horizon we meet a woman, Lily, who has suffered great loss and has way too much anxiety because of it. Lily meets Asher and holy heck, from the moment those two meet I loved Asher’s dirty talk. He immediately says things that make you go Dayum and the chemistry is great!
Asher has to be Lily’s rock. He is patient and Oh, so sweet. At times, I did feel like he was too sweet. I wanted more biker gruff, but that could just be because I’m married to a biker and prefer it that way.
I would have also liked to see a little bit more from the other club ladies. They are so enjoyable.
This book reads like a contemporary romance so if you’re not sure on motorcycles I think you would still enjoy this.
Overall Anne Malcom delivers a captivating, sexy and romantic novel.
Oh, and we were left with some questions on Bex, Lily’s BFF and Lucky, another member of The Sons of Templar. Can’t wait to hear how that one plays out!
Anne Malcom has been an avid reader since before she can remember, her mother responsible for her book addiction. It started with magical journeys into the world of Hogwarts and Middle Earth, then as she grew up her reading tastes grew with her. Her obsession with books and romance novels in particular gave Anne the opportunity to find another passion, writing. Finding writing about alpha males and happily ever afters more fun than reading about them, Anne is not about to stop any time soon.
Raised in small town New Zealand, Anne had a truly special childhood, growing up in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. She has backpacked across Europe, ridden camels in the Sahara, eaten her way through Italy, and had all sorts of crazy adventures. For now, she’s back at home in New Zealand and quite happy. But who knows when the travel bug will bite her again.
