Blurb:

Vincent
Through every drop of blood I spilled, I lost a piece of my soul. I’ve sacrificed seven long years and the woman of my life for the Family. With prison behind me, I’m finally taking the reins of my destiny. I won’t allow the choices of my past to define my future. But I’m not done fighting—not yet.

Eve is still out there.

I will stop at nothing to get her back.

Eve
After having my heart torn out by the son of the biggest crime family in New York, I was forced to start over in California. With three thousand miles between me and my past, life is finally set on cruise control. I’m a lawyer at one of the best law firms in the country, I own my apartment, and I even have a doting boyfriend by my side.

As for love?

It’s not worth the fight.

*Redemption (Vincent and Eve Book 3) is the final book in the Vincent and Eve trilogy. You must read Rising (Vincent and Eve Book 1) and Reckoning (Vincent and Eve Book 2) in order to enjoy the conclusion of this heart-stopping romance.

Sandy’s 5 Blush Up All Night Review

This crazy good emotional roller coaster we have lived with Eve and Vincent has been worth every single minute of suffering while I waited for the next book to release. Jessica Ruben has firmly joined the ranks of my automatic 1-Click authors. Ok –so let’s get into it – REDEMPTION!

It has been 7 years. Seven very long years for Vincent as he served his time in jail along with his right hand guy Tom. Seven years where he had to assert himself so as not to become low man on the totem pole. He must retain his status as a man to be feared as he continues building his casino empire. His ticket out of the “family”.

Eve has finished college, gone on to law school and is at the top of her game at her law firm. Working her butt off to make partner despite her colleagues treating her like a glorified secretary. Her boyfriends are like samples at a designer sale – pretty and they fit but not the real thing. To me it felt like she was in a self-imposed prison, doing all the right things, with all the outside trappings of success but always guarded.

Let’s not forget that Vincent lied and broke her heart to protect her. Eve has no idea and has let her love turn into something else. That’s what it took for her to survive the colossal dissolution of everything she thought was true. Until her firm takes on its biggest client ever and just like that Vincent is back in her life.

Redemption (Vincent & Eve #3) is a worthy conclusion to this trilogy and the title is appropriate. These two halves of a whole belong together. There is so much palpable pain and loss here that one wonders if that undefinable thing between them is enough to compel them to fight for the love they once had. Vincent thought he left the “life” behind until it comes straight at him like a runway train. Eve thinks she has left Vincent behind until she comes face to face with an undeniable fact, her heart never stopped loving him.

That a novice author, could conceive the compelling, heartbreaking, pulse pounding, unforgettable love story of Vincent & Eve is a dream! Her pacing is perfection. Her hooks kept us right there just long enough before expertly feeding us the next bite. She gave me romance, she gave me angst, she brought the sexy without being tacky. This emotionally rich series makes me wish I could experience it all over again for the first time. The first meeting, first kiss and even the first heartbreak. I loved it all. Rising, Reckoning and Redemption are worth your money but more importantly they are worth your time.

Next time I hear Jessica Ruben has a new book releasing = 1-Click!

Stephanie’s 4.5 Blush Review

***Spoiler alert – You must read Rising & Reckoning before reading this review***

…now that I’m free, it’s time I redeem myself.”

The story of Vincent and Eve comes to a conclusion in Redemption. This trilogy is the debut for author Jessica Ruben and what a way to enter the literary world! She didn’t just step in, she crashed in, full force! Rising was heart stopping! It grabbed me from the first page and didn’t let go until I was jumping from a cliff! Reckoning gave me the biggest book hang-over! The emotions were flowing. The path that Vincent and Eve are heading toward…devastating! What will happen to Vincent and Eve?

At the conclusion of Reckoning, Vincent and Eve are separated. The wheels were set in motion as a chain of events is set off. A consequence of their love and circumstances. It was painful to see the path that has been chosen for both Vincent & Eve. Vincent was sent to prison. To ensure Eve’s safety, he sent her to California. Eve is so determined and strong willed that Vincent did what he must to ensure she would leave. He had hoped that Eve would live life for him. A life that she has fought desperately for. From New York’s toughest housing projects, the Blue Houses, to NYU and on to Stanford.

“All those promises we made when we were kids are just that, promises made between kids.”

But things don’t always turn out the way you planned. It has been seven years. Eve is a successful lawyer. But her heart is closed. She is controlled and closed off. Growing up poor has left her with a need to assess her value, her worth and her bank account – frequently – for assurance.

“I’m everything I wanted to become…yet more unfulfilled than ever.”

Once Vincent is released he realizes that the choices that led him to prison were impulsive and immature. Vincent wants his life to go in a new direction. However, it may not be that easy…

“Freedom, in the true sense of the word, will never belong to me – at least not so long as I represent the Borignone mafia.”

Vincent did not spend his time sitting idly while in prison. He worked on his dream. But his dream may be overshadowed by his last name.

“You will not escape your destiny. I choose who comes and goes. Who will live and who will die. Me.”

What can I say…I absolutely LOVED this series! The writing is fantastic. The story flows from book to book as life continues on. Uncertainty, turmoil, crime, angst, fear….it’s all there! My emotions were all over the place! I just loved the punch that this series delivered. There is nothing better than picking up a book and being wow’d! And you, Jessica Ruben, WOW me!!!! Can’t wait to see what you write next!

“I’m staring at nothing but darkness, farther from redemption than I ever was.”
