Second grade teacher Mia Delaney isn’t looking for love. In fact, she isn’t looking for anything at all because life hasn’t been fair. Everything – the idea of love, her hopes and dreams – was ripped away in a single night.
Arrogant yet sexy Adam Lawson makes the move to a small town in an attempt to escape life in the city. Here he hopes to provide a fresh start for those he loves and protects with a vow to never let anyone get close enough to hurt them again.
A chance encounter with Miss Delaney begins a relentless pursuit that has Adam breaking his own rules when he makes an offer she simply can’t refuse. Despite her internal struggles, Mia knows there’s no denying the attraction between them.
But when acquaintances become friends and friends become enemies, Adam’s need to protect those around him becomes even more crucial. Will the tangled web of lies and betrayal combined with past insecurities become too much for them to handle?

Louisa’s 3.5 Blush Review
LM Carr has given us two characters who fall into each others lives when they are most needed. The young-cool teacher and the new sexy – off limits – hot dad!
Mia and Adam have a spark that they, at first, won’t acknowledge. There is some serious angst going on between these two. Once they admitted their feelings, they jumped head first…It was a little too insta-love for my liking. Mia was a bit wishy-washy at times and that made me a bit crazy – but I kept listening to because I needed to know – how would these two make it work!
Mia absolutely falls in love with Adam’s children and the man that Adam is…well for the most part. Adam has a lot of secrets and these secrets are never ending. Mia wants to believe Adam when these secrets come between them, but she has been hurt before and isn’t able to just give in. Mia has a suitcase full of secrets herself and she’s not talking either.
The oh-so-sexy times were on point and sexy hot! I was surely blushing while listening!
The feelings in which LM Carr evoked with her words, were portrayed perfectly by these two narrators.
I will forever associate these narrators with these characters. I loved that when they were narrating, I felt as though they were Adam and Mia. Whole heartedly!
The back and forth went on for both books and was hoping for some more closure by the end of book 2, but it continues into book 3.
