Leah Smith finally has everything she has ever wanted. Except she doesn’t. Her marriage feels more like a loan than a lifelong commitment, and the image she has worked so hard to build is fraying before her eyes. With a new role and a past full of secrets, Leah must decide how far she is willing to go to keep what she has stolen.
There are a few characters who will stay with your forever. A few character’s who you will hate forever and that is why you will never forget them…Elena (aka Mrs. Robinson) from Fifty Shades of Grey, Kiera from The Thoughtless Series, Tawny from the Driven Series…well, Leah may top them all. She is the b*tch of all b*tches. It’s kind of sad. You can’t help but hate her, but there is also a little part of me that felt so sad for Leah. She is just a clueless, selfish, self absorbed woman. Sam (her “mannie”) describes Leah perfectly, he says:
“You are the single most offensive woman I have ever met!”
Then we have Caleb – he could possibly be the nicest, sweetest man to ever live (in a book). He may have been a bit deceitful at one point, but he is just, so tolerant of Leah and her bulls*t. But then she goes over the line and we see a new Caleb…one I really love. A man and a baby are one picture in my head that I can’t deny I find super sexy. And he’s British so a double whammy!
Tarryn Fisher has always be able to suck me in and not let go! I start to read and DAMN, I am Up All Night reading, well in this case I was listening.
I loved this audible book. The narrator had such a great ability of changing the inflection in her voice. You could tell the difference between the past and present Leah, just from her voice. The chapters are past then present. If I had stopped listening for a some reason and came back, I knew exactly where we were.
My only “issue” I had was the narrator did not use an English accent for Caleb. But other than that, this audible was perfect. I am so looking forward the next audible!
