#5BlushReview~~Boys South of the Mason Dixon by @AbbiGlines
The only thing hotter than the weather South of the Mason Dixon line are the boys. Worn, faded blue jeans, slow Southern drawls, and those naughty moments in the back of pickup trucks a girl never forgets. Welcome to the world of the Sutton boys. Five brothers who fight, party, drink a little too much, but more importantly, they love their momma. Nothing can tear them apart… until the girl next door wins more than one of their hearts.
Stephanie’s 5 Blush Up All Night Review
What started out as a series of short stories that Abbi Glines wrote under pen name “Effy Vaugh” has turned into an awesome full length book! Her short stories gave us a little taste so sweet that you were begging for more! And Abbi delivered! There was a lot of commotion after the book was postponed and the incorrect version was released. I am very excited to post my review after having just finished the “real” version.
WOW! Is my first impression! We are introduced to the Sutton boys. Five sexy, crazy, fun and passionate brothers who live on a farm with their widowed mom. Asher, twins Brent & Bray, Steel and Dallas. This book is Asher’s story.
“The Sutton boys were trouble. Beautiful trouble.”
Asher is the eldest of the five boys. Captain of the football team, popular & beautiful.
“I knew Asher was popular with the older girls. He was popular with all the girls, regardless of their age. They all wanted him because he had it all – looks, charm and mystique.”
The Sutton and Monroe farms sat beside one another in a small town in Malory, Alabama. Dixie Monroe had lived her whole life next door to the Sutton boys and their lives had been intertwined. Although Asher was older than Dixie he was always protective of her. What started out as a friendship with Asher blossomed into young love as Dixie became a young woman.
I loved this book! The boys are sexy, rowdy and loyal…. The story flows and the characters are believable, each with their own issues, flaws and beauty. I also loved the southern spirit/culture that was laced throughout the book. And you can’t forget about the angst!
Unlike the small stories from the past, the book comes full circle, filling in blanks and completing Asher’s story. There was no epilogue but I have a feeling that we will be seeing Asher & Dixie in future books. What a great was to start a new series!
“Love is a fickle bitch. Can’t pick and choose where your heart will lock in. If we could, life would run a helluva lot smoother. We’d all be goofy happy.”
